About Podlad
Podlad was founded by Bren Russell. I am a vastly experienced media Irish producer based in Dublin, Ireland. I quit a very safe day job at Ireland's public broadcaster RTE to work full-time on podcasts and follow a long-term ambition of working for myself.
I genuinely enjoy my job and look forward to the start of each new week. My day is spent listening to incredible tales and then working out how to turn them into a well-produced Podcast that can be shared with the rest of the world. Throughout the years, I've learnt a so much from podcasters and their guests.
While my headphones are off, I normally spend time with my wife, Jenni, and our young boy, Sonny. I have two spoilt cats and love football (soccer), Mediterranean food, coffee, and the occasional pint of Guinness.
A Podcast Producer, not an Agency
What sets me apart is I am not just another agency focused on profit margins. Unlike agencies that will try and sell a myriad of services without clear direction, I embark on the podcasting journey with you. I personally handle the majority of the work and take full responsibility for the process and outcomes.
I don't offer a generic, cookie-cutter editing service. Instead, I engage in one-on-one collaboration with all Podcast Partners. My approach involves delving into your desires, goals, and budget to tailor the most strategic package that aligns with your unique needs.
No sales techniques, no upselling, no lock-in contracts. I pride myself on giving open and honest advice on how to create a great podcast.
I am largely a B2B service. My clients are a mix of highly motivated individuals and forward-thinking companies such as FSC Denmark, Insight HR Ireland, Genioo, Sustainalytics, Metacompliance, SHIFT, EDA Inc, Reaktor, Skiller Whale, Clients First and Inspiring Change.
I maintain an amazing relationship with clients because I only choose to work on projects that I am sure are the right fit and where I can add value. I’m easy to work with, reliable, fast and very knowledgeable in audio, media and broadcasting.
17 Years of Professional Media Experience
Before launching Podlad, I spent 17 years working in the media sector for well-known broadcasters and companies such as RTE, BBC, Brown Bag Films, and MTV. My reputation has always been as someone who gets things done quickly and efficiently.
In 2020 I worked on the RTE Podcast “Treasure Island: The Hunt for the Falcon Blanco”, which went on to win a Silver Award at the New York Festivals Radio Awards 2020 (Category Serialized Podcast)
