The First 10 Podcast

The First 10 Podcast is an Irish interview-based podcast hosted by Conor McCarthy. Conor interviews business builders and entrepreneurs from across the world and finds out how they got their first 10 customers and finds out about all the successes and failures along the way.

This is an amazing listen, something I recommend to anyone who works for themself, does freelance work or has any ambition to do either. As someone who has spent a lot of time as a freelancer, editing this podcast has been amazing as I have picked up so many tips and a better understanding of the mentality of a successful entrepreneur.

Podlad took over The First 10 Podcast from episode 11 (season 2) and immediately started to suggest ways of improving the Podcast. If you listen to episodes 1-10 and compare it with one of the most recent. You will hear a difference in technical quality, flow and tone. Here are just some of the things we implemented:

• Enhanced sound quality as we suggested changing some settings on zoom.

• Introduction of music that adds to brand identity as it blends across the intro, outro and bumpers.

• Faster intro segments - getting to the met of the Podcast faster.

• Introduction of a midsection break for Calls to action for Conor’s business.

• Explaining what Conor does for a living early on in the Podcast instead of at the end.

• Introduction of a fast outro segment that previews the next episode.

• The use of audiograms and graphics for social media (attached).

• Proper titling of episodes and enhanced show notes with targetted keywords so the show can show up on searches.
